Nearly 30 business incubators throughout Maryland are fostering the next generation of entrepreneurs, breaking down barriers to entry and introducing new talent to investors.

For the past 14 years, organizers of the Maryland Incubator Company of the Year Awards have honored the most promising startups emerging from the State’s incubators. From among 22 finalists, this year’s category winners will be announced at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore on June 10, the competition announced Wednesday.

“Maryland’s extensive incubator network plays a crucial role in our State’s economy by providing entrepreneurs the resources they need to succeed,” Rob Rosenbaum, president and executive director of the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO), said in a statement.

“The Incubator Company of the Year Awards is an opportunity to highlight Maryland’s impressive incubator system and celebrate talented start-up companies and innovative technologies around the State,” Rosenbaum said.

TEDCO joins Lonza Group LTD, Saul Ewing LLP, the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED), McGladrey LLP, M&T Bank, the BioMaryland Center and the Maryland Business Incubation Association (MBIA) as the main sponsors of this year’s competition.

Finalists were chosen from a team of more than three-dozen industry experts and investors. The companies cover a wide range, from advanced medical technology to a coffee retailer. Find a complete list below:
