Extreme disappointment with this announcement. The winners do not reflect seed stage companies. In fact, three out of the four winners – Staq, Harpoon Medical, and Mercaris – each raised a venture round. $100,000 prize does nothing to grow their business.

All 214 InvestMaryland Challenge applicants were thoroughly reviewed by panels of industry experts from across the State and the 28 prize winners were chosen after careful consideration and multiple rounds of judging. We are very proud of all the winners and expect the prizes awarded to help them add jobs, win new customers, and grow their businesses here in Maryland, as these awards have done for previous IMC winners. We cannot wait to see what they accomplish next.
