ExportMD grants awarded to seven MD companies

Seven small and mid-sized Maryland companies have been awarded ExportMD grants to help promote their products and services in the global marketplace.

Among the companies included in this round of ExportMD grants is EndoMaster Medical Inc. of Beltsville. “Because of the ExportMD grant, our small company has an excellent opportunity to offer our products and services internationally, and it also gives us the ability to increase our workforce,” said Cathy Young, vice president of sales and marketing for EndoMaster Medical. “Many thanks to DBED for assisting EndoMaster Medical with every phase of this terrific experience.”

The remaining six companies receiving ExportMD grants include Tenax Corporation (Baltimore City); Reflexonic, LLC (Frederick County); Beacon Environmental Services, Inc. (Harford County); IP Technology Labs, LLC (Montgomery County); and EndoSurg Medical Inc. and FASTech Inc. (Prince George’s County).

The ExportMD grant program is administered by the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) and helps businesses finance the costs of marketing internationally, including trade show fees, brochures and travel expenses. During fiscal year 2015, DBED awarded ExportMD grants to 44 Maryland companies for international initiatives, and since 2012, 67 grant recipients have leveraged more than $168 million in export sales.

“As competition increases in the global economy, one of our key priorities is to connect our Maryland businesses with new customers and new markets around the world,” said DBED Secretary Mike Gill. “I encourage Maryland businesses that are considering doing business internationally to learn more about the funding and expert guidance offered by the ExportMD program.”

Applications are accepted on a bi-monthly basis and the next application deadline is October, 1 2015. Eligibility requirements can be found on DBED’s website.
